I received an email about a week ago regarding some lose weight inquiry. I was shocked since this one is the first email that I received. I won't tell you his name. Well, he asked me regarding with "How Much Exercise Do I Need To Lose Weight?" As per the common saying goes "too much of everything is not good". This is also true when it comes to exercise. I believe this will apply to almost everything. Anyways, enough said. Let's go back to the topic before we reach to some day to day quotes (lol).

To answer this question, first let me know what type of exercise you are on. You see, you can have a light exercise and a heavy exercise. The thing here is that, you want to exercise more that you want to rest. For this type of exercise, you need to spend 1.5 hrs to 2 hours on the gym. That's how long your gonna stay inside the fitness gym. If you go overboard at this time, then the result will not be good. You will end up having your muscles over fatigue. Have you ever heard of a person collapsed while exercising? You don't want that to happen, do you? Working your muscles over and over again will not make you big and strong. You need to relax your muscles.

Halong Bay is located in Quáng Ninh province, Vietnam. The bay features thousands of limestone karsts and isles in various sizes and shapes. The bay has a 120 kilometre long coastline and is approximately 1,553 square kilometres in size with 1969 islets. Dahsyatnya Konser Linkin Park Di Indonesia

Cabikan gitar nan garang Brad Delson, bersandingkan dengan lengkingan vokal prima Chester Bennington sungguh sangat memukau. Tak mau kalah, gebukan drum Rob Bourdon pun beriringan dengan aksi ciamik Joseph Hahn dalam memainkan turn table miliknya. Tak hanya itu, efek visual dan layar LCD raksasa berukuran 16 x 6 meter sebagai backdrop-stage, tentunya sangat mendukung bagi aksi panggung Mike Shinoda dkk. Juga dengan 2 LCD berukuran tak kalah besar dari backdrop-stage.

Tata lampu pun terlihat maksimal meski terkesan sederhana bagi konser sekelas Linkin Park. Namun hal tersebut tak menjadi hal yang berarti, apalagi dengan adanya video mapping dari awal sampai akhir konser.

“Pokoknya keren abis konsernya, nggak rugi lah,” ujar Fahmi, seorang penonton di Gelora Bung Karno, Senayan, Jakarta Pusat (21/9).

Tentunya, aksi Linkin Park di konser yang bertujuan untuk mempromosikan album terbaru yang baru dirilis 2010 tahun lalu ini bisa membayar harga tiket yang dibandrol mulai dari Rp 550 ribu untuk sides section, Rp 750 ribu untuk mid section, Rp 1 juta untuk kelas green, Rp 1,2 juta untuk festival, Rp 1,9 juta untuk kelas blue, dan Rp 2,5 juta untuk kelas yellow.

Thalita mengaku puas menyaksikan penampilan band kesayangannya, Linkin Park. Namun Thalita merasa lebih puas jika bisa menyaksikan Lady Gaga manggung di Indonesia.

"Aku selalu penasaran bagaimana cara fashionnya, panggung act-nya dia. Di Indonesia belum ada yang kayak dia," terang Thalita, saat ditemui di Senayan, Jakarta, baru-baru ini.

Selain memuji kualitas dan aksi panggungnya, Thalita mengakui, gaya berbusananya Lady Gaga juga sangat mempengaruhi penampilan kesehariannya.

"Menurut saya banyak polisi suaranya lebih bagus dari Norman. Yang jadi pertanyaan, Norman apakah selamanya bisa menghibur?," tutur artis Dorce Gamalama, saat dihubungi, Senin (19/9). "Sosoknya sih biasa saja, tapi orang-orang saja yang memperlakukan dia jadi luar biasa. Seperti dewa baru yang siap menghibur. Sebenarnya tidak perlu begitu," lanjut Dorce.

Dorce mengaku kecewa ketika mendengar Briptu Norman memilih untuk meninggalkan korp kepolisiannya. Namun semua itu adalah keputusan Briptu Norman, dan Dorce menghargai pilihan itu.

Spoiled

I feel spoiled by my friends and family. The other night, my son, Aaron, and his wife and four kids showed up at the door with cleaning supplies and a vaccuum, broom, mop, etc. They scoured the house... and it really needed it. It was soooo nice of them. I was really touched by their love. Also, Maria, brought in delicious homemade bread today. The other family members are kind and loving as well and do what they can. So, as you can see, I am spoiled.

Also, my friends have been there as well. We had another delicious dinner last night and a girlfriend helped me with my ipod and downloaded new music onto it for me.
I feel like I'm bragging. I hope not.

It was wonderful to have Larry's father over tonight for dinner. He brings a special feeling into our home and I admire him very much.

I feel much better today than yesterday.

MITOS ALIMENTARIOS II: comer fruta después de la comida engorda

El primer tema de esta serie que me gustaría tocar es la creencia, cada vez más extendida, de que comer la fruta después de la comida, es decir, de postre, engorda.
Seré claro y tajante: el orden en que se ingieren los alimentos no influye en el total de calorías diarias. Una fruta, sea cual sea, aporta la misma energía si se toma sola, o si se toma antes o después de las comidas. Este mito no tiene ningún tipo de sentido físico: es totalmente imposible que una fruta, o cualquier alimento, engorde más por el hecho de haberlo comido de postre.


El organismo no entiende de alimentos, lo único que ve son nutrientes (hidratos de carbono, proteínas, vitaminas, etc.). Cuando ingerimos alimentos todos ellos van al estómago de la misma manera, se mezclan entro ellos y con los jugos gástricos, con el objetivo de empezar a desfragmentarse en los nutrientes que los componen. Al sistema digestivo le da igual el orden de los alimentos, le da igual si la fruta se la das antes o después de una comida, pues todo va a ser mezclado y gestionado del mismo modo. El hecho de comer la fruta de postre es totalmente cultural.
Existen, además, dos discursos que suelen acompañar a este mito para intentar darle más fuerza. El primero de ellos es afirmar que si se toma la fruta antes de la comida se aprovecharan mejor sus vitaminas y minerales. De manera breve y entendible comentaré que el cuerpo absorbe de la misma manera los nutrientes tanto si se toma juntos como separados, no se hacen la competencia, existen mecanismo de asimilación específicos para cada uno de ellos. Es más, algunos nutrientes, si se toman juntos presentan efectos sinérgicos (multiplicación de efectividad).
El segundo de los argumentos que comentábamos es el de creer que la fruta si se toma en el último lugar de la comida, permanece en las partes superiores del estómago y allí fermenta. Francamente no sé como tomarme esto. No sé qué ha dado pie a esta idea. Como ya hemos aclarado anteriormente, al llegar los alimentos al estomago se mezclan entre ellos haciendo una masa conjunta. El estomago no esta dividido en “pisos”, donde los alimentos se van quedando según su orden de llegada. Este argumento es una aberración a los conocimientos más básicos de biología humana. 


Para terminar, me gustaría comentar la única situación en la que tendría sentido ingerir la fruta antes de la comida (y no tiene nada que ver con las creencias antes vistas). En situaciones de sobrepeso puede ser ventajoso tomar la fruta en primer lugar, pues se trata de un alimento rico en agua y fibra que va a producir un efecto saciante en la persona, con lo cual puede ser una ayuda para no ingerir posteriormente tanta cantidad de comida.
